The pictures below are of my parents house, you can see the outline of two reindeer that light up at night and Lais was quite shocked to see they actually move! I was surprised too.

In the picture below is the tree farm we went to to cut down the Christmas tree. It was very hard work! There were many varieties of pine trees available but we decided on a variety called "Douglas Fir" which is the best! I tried to convince Lais to try a little bit to cut down the tree but she declined. I think next time we will buy one already cut!
The snowman was quite difficult to build, we could not roll snowballs to stack on top of each other as is traditional because the snowballs kept falling apart. Instead we had to pack all the snow in one spot. I took a shovel and dumped snow at the base of the snowman and Lais sculpted it into the beautiful creation you see below. We used the scarf from Carol, and Lais' gloves. My mom gave us a carrot from the house to use as a nose, and for the eyes we used two pieces of charred wood from the burned down garage.

Every ornament has a story behind it, and it is quite embarrassing that one of the ornaments I created at age 5 is featured in the pictures below. Sad to say, my artistic talent has not improved any since then.

Ridiculo!
The Brazil tree is on the left side, it is the second one from the bottom. It's awful but it did have lots of Brazilian chocolate on the tree which Lais wanted to take off the tree and eat. Somehow we prevented her. As bad as the Brazil tree is, the Mexico one was the worst, it was full of donkey pinatas! There were trees outside as well as inside, and we climbed at tree outside to get a better view, but it was too dark to take pictures. It was fun walking around and looking at all the lights.

This is my favorite family recipe called pow pow, or "meat buns" as Lais likes to call it. She is trying to make it at home today and I am very excited to see how it comes out. I am sure she did a great job though!
The baby in the picture is my niece Vanessa who likes to say "OK" over and over. She has way too much energy but she is very cute like all my nieces!
The picture of the people holding candles is a choir that came to our house. Since my dad could not move because of his injuries, the church came to the house and performed some songs and a small play about the true meaning of Christmas. After this, they handed out candles to everyone and we sang 3 Christmas songs together. Lais held the candle for us, while I held the sheets of music with the words on it. It was very nice for the church to come visit our house, and we all enjoyed it very much.

These are pictures we took while we were walking around Rockford, which is the town I grew up in. It is decorated in Christmas lights and there was Christmas music playing throughout the streets. There is a restaurant here called the Corner Bar which serves great hot dogs. If you eat 12 hot dogs they put your name on the wall. Lais is absolutely convinced she can eat 12 hot dogs in the 4 hour time limit and become famous! I know for a fact that I can not, as I tried it once when I was 17 years old but was only able to eat 10 hot dogs. One day when we go back Lais will do it!
On the bottom left are 2 stockings that we bought and put our names on. My mom filled it with chocolate for us which we ate on the way home from Michigan. I had Lais put my name on my stocking, because as you can see from the ornament I created at age 5, my talent is not good enough to write my name on a stocking so that it looks good.
